School golf a hit with students

TWENTY-ONE Jamberoo Public School students have been participating in golf coaching each Friday during the fourth school term.

Coaching sessions started at school, progressed to Jamberoo sporting ovals and concluded on Friday with a Gala Day Ambrose Competition at Jamberoo Golf Course.

The program was initiated by teacher Mrs McCormack, who has attended a Jack Newton Junior Golf Coaching Course.

It was conducted by Mrs McCormack, Jamberoo golf pro Jim Butt, Jamberoo junior promotions representative Phil Lewis, parent Linda McGlinchey and club directors Sue Paul, Rose Sheath and captain Dave Ransom.

Prizes were donated through the Jack Newton Golf Foundation, and attendees also enjoyed a sausage sizzle after the golf concluded.

It was great to see that some parents were able to attend.

The enthusiastic students improved their golfing skills throughout the term.
