Police are seeking a woman they believe robbed a Lake Illawarra mixed business at gunpoint on Sunday.
About 7pm the woman allegedly entered the store on Koonawarra Road, Koonawarra, and asked the shop attendant for cigarettes.
The woman then showed the attendant a firearm, demanding cash and more cigarettes.
The worker complied and the woman then left in the passenger’s seat of a vehicle waiting outside.
The shop attendant flagged down a passing police car a short time later and a crime scene was established at the shop.
No one was injured during the incident.
Detectives have commenced inquiries and are appealing for public assistance to identify and locate the woman involved.
She is described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged in her mid to late 30s, with a large build, and short blonde 'Undercut' style hair with brown regrowth. She also has a tattoo on the back of her neck.
At the time of the robbery she was wearing a black t-shirt with long sleeved red t-shirt underneath, and a dark baseball cap with tan brim.
The car she left in is described as an early 1990s model white Toyota Seca hatchback.
It was last seen driving east along Fowlers Road.
