Both are stay-at-home mums with young children. Mrs Tidswell thought it was time to set up a social network site to help mothers stay in touch. The website www.akiamamum.com.au also launches today.
“I was sitting at home with baby number two and thought there must be lots of other mums in the same situation who just want to know about things to do but are time poor due to being so busy with their families,” Mrs Tidswell said.
“A Kiama Mum provides a way for local mums to connect and share parenting experiences and ideas and provide a source of information on local activities and services.’’
Mrs Myers said the website was a good place for mums to share ideas and experiences.
“We have added things like a playground directory, together with reviews and even Google maps to help them get there,” she said.
“So many people don’t realise what we have in the local area.’’
A Kiama Mum is hoping to attract business support to help maintain and grow the website.
