In second place was Craig Harris, another runner who has demonstrated incredible improvement week after week. Craig reduced his best time by fifteen seconds and it remains to be seen when his performances will plateau, if they ever do.
The start of the school holidays and other commitments saw a reduced field of runners but those that were there put in some very respectable times.
Allan Sim was only five seconds from his best time in claiming third place while Allyson Weston finished a mere two seconds behind Allan. Allyson is producing form reminiscent of when she won the inaugural Jamberoo Joggers competition.
Kristen Mawbey finished in fifth place to secure the final bonus point on offer.
Craig Harris has a seven point lead over Allan Sim in the championship point score and it appears that one of these two will be the eventual winner provided that they compete in each of the three runs left in the competition.
For the second successive week Ruth Mawbey won the two and a half kilometre run and established a new personal best time.
Tireni Mawbey finished in second place and the bonus points attached to that position allowed her to gain the lead in the championship. Tireni is the reigning short-course champ and could become the first person to win a second crown.
Callan Mawbey was third with Alicia Harris and Jasmine Mills filling out the other top five placings.
Tireni has a lead of one and a half points over Ellie Burnett and while theoretically Luke Behl-Shanks could cause an upset, it is a pretty safe bet that either Tireni or Ellie will be the competition winner. As is the case for the long-course, so much depends on just who competes in the three races remaining in the current competition.
