AFTER a long, enforced lay-off, the area's budding young Lauren Jacksons and Andrew Gazes will be back in action at the Kiama Leisure Centre in term 4.
With the centre set to reopen, Kiama Basketball Association has announced it is running a mixed summer competition for boys and girls aged 14-17 on Tuesday afternoons, starting on October 8.
The competition will run throughout term 4 and continue in term 1, providing 21 weeks of court action.
Cost is $158 (including Basketball NSW registration and all court and referee fees).
"We know our regular players are itching to get back on the court," KBA president Mark Bowmer said.
"With the work that's been done sanding and remarking the courts, it will be like playing on a brand new surface.
"We'd also love to welcome new players. If you've always wanted to have a go at basketball, here's your chance."
