THE Oak Flats Falcons club totalled a sensational 30 goals during the final competition round of the season at Shell Cove.
Youth grade coach Dave Brindell could not believe his eyes when his charges scored 19 goals. Jack Castelli (three), Jackson Brooks (three), Liam Gallo (two), Bryeson Lloyd (two), Jay Mason (two), Chad Fernandez (two), Jake Leighton, Alex Bausch, Justin Beregshasy and Luke Cicino all scored goals, while other scoring opportunities were missed.
It was impossible to pick a player of the match, as the Falcons finished in second spot on the competition table and are now eligible to play in the qualification round to reach the grand final.
Reserve grade scored 10 goals through Even Fowler (two), Ben Armstrong (two), Blake Crandell (two), Michael Guinery, Ryan Pitt, Mark Borg and George Franco.
First grade drew one-all with Shell Cove. The only goal scored for the Falcons came in the 52nd minute via Justin Beregshasy. Stand-in coach Chad Bishop didn't play, but directed play from the dugout.
Shell Cove eventually equalised in the 83rd minute. Both teams missed chances in the final quarter. The Falcons coach could be satisfied with the overall performance.
On August 31, the Falcons meet at Oak Flats Bowling Club for their annual awards presentation for all grades - youth grade, reserves, first grade, ladies football and the two over-35 sides, the Oak Flats Falcons oldies winning their league.
