From the Kiama SLSC presentation night, the major award winners were as follows.
Lymbery Family Award for most outstanding cadet: Nick Wingrove.
Peter Dobson Trophy for the most outstanding team performance: under-15 Beach Relay.
Parkinson Family Award for most outstanding junior: Jack Heffernan and Nicki Lea Cockley.
Kim Taber Memorial Award for the most outstanding female member: Kate Sutton.
Parkes Family Award for outstanding work behind the scenes: Nick McInerney.
Brian Jones Memorial Trophy for the lifesaver of the year: Russell St John.
Neil (Brother Brown) Memorial Award for the most outstanding competitor: Jake Heffernan.
Les Pepper Memorial Award for the most outstanding club member: David Gorman.
At the South Coast Branch presentation night, the club was well represented by junior and senior members.
Alicia Burazin won the under 8-10 Female Competitor of the Year.
Kate Lewis won under 11-14 Female Competitor of the Year.
These awards are great recognition of the hard work that the girls put into their Nippers season last year.
The club was also successful in winning the Event of the Year, acknowledging the book launch for Vigilance & Service - Kiama SLSC 1908-2008. This book was written by Peter and Margaret Raison.
Patrol 6 won Patrol Team of the Year in recognition for all the hard work they put in on the beach.
Rhys Dawson won the major award of Lifesaver of the Year.
Dawson is an extremely hard worker for Kiama SLSC, not only on beach patrols but also with the Kiama Jet Rescue Boat - Surf Rescue 50, and throughout the club.
The AGM for the 2013-14 season took place recently and after a number of successful years as president, John Ford handed the reins over to Nick McInerney.
