CONGRATULATIONS to seven Albion Park Little As members who competed at the NSW State Multi Event Championships recently.
Each age group from under-7 and under-17 boys and girls had six set track and field events, with each athlete accumulating points based on their times and distances.
Each age group had up to 50 athletes competing from all across the state.
Orange had a record rainfall on the Friday prior to the carnival, and this resulted in a very muddy track, closing two lanes for the weekend.
Despite the poor conditions over the two days, including cold gale cross winds (which cancelled or relocated some hurdle events), the athletes toughed it out and produced some great results.
After all the final points were calculated, Albion Park had two silver medallists, Kalani Vella in the under-7 boys and Jayden Wright in the under-10 boys.
They also had Darnell Wright in the under-eight boys finishing 11th, Taylah Vella in under-11 girls finishing 7th, Charlotte Bett, under-11 girls 14th, Casey-Lee Bedford, under-14 girls 10th, and Rideika Wright under-15 girls 12th.
Overall, an excellent display from the Albion Park contingent, mixing it with some quality state level athletes across all disciplines.
