The 12th annual Gerroa Disabled Surfers event is on again this Sunday.
Sign-in at 9am is at Emery Park at the northern side of the Crooked River and surfing gets under way around 9.45 once everyone gets suited up and into their DSA rash-vests, which are supplied on the day.
As always, all abilities are catered for with surfing, taking place in only broken waves in waist-depth water with a team of volunteer helpers around each participant.
Amphibious Sandcruiser beach wheelchairs will help with more challenging surfers with the legendary Kellie McCann ("the world's most courageous surfer" - Tracks magazine) joining us for the day.
A free BBQ lunch and prize giving will conclude the day with every participant receiving a surfing medallion and a bag of goodies.
It's simply all about putting "smiles on dials - safely".
The Disabled Surfers Association of Australia - national with 14 branches in all mainland Australian states plus one in NZ - in its 28th year!
