Weather can't stop pennants

OVER the last two weeks, the rain has played havoc with Kiama Bowling Club calendar with all men's pennants washed out on the February 23-24 weekend and social bowls for the week also affected.

However, the men's pennants on Saturday went ahead although the players endured some drizzle during the afternoon.

The twos were at home against Fairy Meadow and although the scores were tied at the end, our boys won two of the three rinks, earning a win 3.5 to 2.5.

Threes were away at Dapto and had a hard-fought 5-1 win and the fours also away, played Woonona and in a tough tussle went down 5-1.

The sixes at home against Fairy Meadow fought hard but finally went down 5-1.

Two wins and two losses is a reasonable start but next week is another challenge, so practise hard.

The ladies pennants have managed to get all of their scheduled games played despite the weather and in the rounds played so far the ones have had a win against Windang and losses against Wiseman Park/Wollongong City and Dapto.

The threes had a win against Windang and a loss to Dapto. The fours had a win against Dapto and a loss to Bulli.
