Pearce's medal wait ends

THIS month's Gerringong Golf Club Men's Medal round was won by Ben Pearce with a terrific 67 nett.

There has been a lengthy hiatus between medal wins for Pearce, who won his last one in May, 2011.

Runner-up Clive Timmins was nipping at his heels with 68 nett.

Balls went to players who had 75 nett or better.

Nearest to pins: 2nd C Timmins, 8th M Schibeci, 9th Drive and Pitch T Quinn, 14th C Kennedy, 12th Longest Drive (A) D Hamilton, (B) B Huender.

The ADI Security sponsored C Pennant team encountered an in-form Vincentia team at Nowra.

Ian Wilcox was the shining light in the 4/1 loss, winning 5/4.

Mike Causey had a memorable round on Sunday, winning with a brilliant 41 Stableford points.

Pearce backed up the previous day's golf but could only manage 35 points to be runner-up.

Quite a few players are taking advantage of playing in the 12 Hole Chook Run on Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays.

Chris Kolderie edged out Michael Gleeson in a countback on their 24 points. Third place went to Kim Bailey who had 23 points.

Balls went to B Carveth (22), L Osterhaus (22), K Quinn (21) and M Fuller (20).
