Clarke shines at Gerringong

GERRINGONG Golf Course was the preferred "office" for those fortunate enough to play in the Third Tuesday of the Month competition.

Alan Clarke clocked off with a promotion-worthy 44 points, while other players who made the executive suite were Ian Jolley (39), Mick Johnson (37) and Neil Murray (36 pts).

Lorraine Jolley and Rosalie Cronin graced the course with their presence and showed the boys that good timing is everything.

Balls went to players who had 34 points or better. Nearest to Pins. 2nd K. Tanner (S'Heads), 8th C. Kolderie, 9th Drive and Pitch G. Roach, 14th D. Hamilton, 18th G. Roche, 17th Longest Drive D. Hamilton.

The Chook Run is being trialled over Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and is still played on holes one to six and then onto 13 to 18.

Trent Conkey got the better of Simon Urszulak in a countback on their 28 points. Ian Woodlands tried to keep up with the pace-setters but fell back into third spot with his 27 points. Balls went to P. Kelly (25), C. Colaruso (25), K. Hodgson (25), C. Kennedy (24) and N. Guy (23 pts).

The course was closed over the weekend due to the heavy rain but the good thing is that the dams are now full and the course is green.
