Not surprisingly, three matches already have first-innings results at the end of day one.
If Shellharbour City's competitive total of 190 was removed, the carnage would have been even greater.
It all started at Kiama Sports Complex, where, for the second time in two weeks, neither side was able to pass 100 as Lake Illawarra took first innings points.
Andrew Hart bagged nine wickets in a chaotic afternoon.
Batting first after being sent in, the Lakers struggled and were bowled out for 66 in just 30 overs, Brendan White top-scoring with 19.
Hart was the chief destroyer for Kiama, taking 5/21 off 15 overs, while Matt O'Brien and Dan Reilly each snared two wickets.
The Cavs were then rolled for just 51.
Liam Anderburg, batting at No. 11, top-scored, while Jamie Crowhurst (3/10), Graham Connor and Brendan White bowled well.
But the drama hadn't finished, Lake slumping to 5/44 in its second dig.
Holding a lead of only 59 runs, there could be plenty of surprises yet.
Hart was again a handful, taking 4/20.
Albion Park and Gerringong/Jamberoo's chances of securing a semi-final spot were on the line in their match at Keith Grey Oval.
The merged side have taken a handy, but not unassailable, first-innings lead.
Gerringong/Jamberoo won the toss and sent in the Eagles, who were dismissed for just 68.
Shergeel Chaudry made a patient 25 to top-score for the home side, while Travis McMahon bowled 17.2 overs and finished with 5/14.
The visitors produced a series of promising partnerships, opener Peter Quine top-scoring with 26.
However, a flurry of wickets to leg-spinner Jack Bennett (3/10) late in the day meant Gerringong/Jamberoo slumped to 6/84 at stumps.
Warilla Sports managed to keep their semi-final hopes alive during their match against The Rail at Croom Road.
Batting first, The Rail failed to fire and they were dismissed for 59.
Hayden Horne topped the batting with 20.
The Kookaburras crashed to 4/17, before finishing the day at 7/70.
They will be hoping to extend that buffer next week.
Tim Goodall and David Insley bowled well to take 4/42 and 3/14 respectively.
Shellharbour City was the shining light on a cloudy day for batting, registering a respectable 190 against competition leaders Oak Flats at Geoff Shaw Ovaland.
They will now be hoping to secure third spot with a win this Saturday.
