Club's busy program

THE Kiama Bowling Club 2013 bowls program is already fully loaded for the year ahead.

In just a few short weeks our zone pennants competition will be upon us and we all hope for good weather to prevail. The greens need rain, just not on a Saturday.

Despite continuing gusty wind conditions, there was a full complement of bowlers for this week's social bowls, including a number of holiday making visitors.

The Wednesday triples competition resulted in a win for the team of F. Smith, B. Harris and I. Baird, with runners-up M. Kunzler, J. Ferguson and A. Anstey.

B. Harris featured again on Thursday, in a pairing with M. Yalden to win the pairs competition. Runners-up on this occasion were A. Van Zanen and W. Read.

The ladies have returned after the Christmas break and the team of H. Joske and M. Sultana won the first social pairs competition on Thursday.

Of interest on Saturday was the continuing club fours championship that saw the C. Coleman, T. Hodgson, B. Archer and M. Ganderton team progress to the next round, along with the line-up of C. Baker, R. White, D. Keenan and K. Pepper.

The competition continues this coming weekend, with the final being played on Sunday. Good luck to all teams especially those who make the final.

Those bowlers not involved in the competition this week enjoyed a competitive round of triples and the team of M. Parkin, D. Downton and C.Twigg prevailed. Runners-up were K. Condon, I. Bradburn and W. Corkin.

See you on the greens.
