The Cancer Council made an important visit to Kiama last week with its new mobile information service.

Kiama Deputy Mayor Ben van der Wijngaart was busy packing his suitcase last week as he prepared to go to China to attend the 2008 International Healthy City Mayors’ Forum.

The search for the perfect Christmas card became a lot easier this week as Kiama’s combined charities Christmas card shop was officially opened.

As Christmas approaches, Kiama business owners prepared for the silly season by honing their selling skills at a workshop last Tuesday. The “Professional Selling Skills” program was organised by the Kiama Small Business Forum and was well attended with more than 30 home and small business operators learning how to improve their sales. Kiama Council Economic Development Officer Megan Hutchinson said the workshop went really well and was happy with the response from the public.

Members of Kiama Amnesty joined together recently at Kiama library to encourage other residents to write letters on behalf of innocent prisoners around the world.

Kiama resident Aviva Sheb’a is certainly no shrinking violet, as patrons will discover this weekend as she shares stories, music and her unique style of vocal dance in her one-woman show Shebada!
