Kiama Lions show support
Since our last report on the Kiama District Sports Association Trust Fund, Trust Fund Convener Ken Langstaff is pleased to report that Kiama Junior AFL, Member of Kiama Matt Brown, Gerringong Junior Rugby League and Kiama District Netball Association have contributed $100 each to the fund.
Also in a generous show of support Kiama Lions Club have recently presented a $800 cheque to Mr Langstaff and Kiama District Sports Association President Mr Col Rathbone.
Former Kiama Lions President Mr Graeme Henderson said the Lions club are pleased to supports such a great cause.
This donation is our first to the Trust Fund and it operates similar to the Lions Cancer Care program that has been so successful, he said.
Lions like to see money that is raised go towards local causes, added Mr Henderson.
The best part about the Trust Fund is the money is never spent, according to Mr Langstaff.
Half of the interest earned on the fund is transferred to the Kiama District Sports Association each year.
It is slowly building up and the money helps support our future stars, said Mr Langstaff.
A further mail out to clubs will take place soon so please show your support by supporting the Association that supports you.
