BRENDAN CRABB

THE Presbyterian Church of Kiama will complete centenary celebrations of its historic pipe organ this weekend.

Throughout September there has been a series of organ and choir recitals, with proceeds going towards paying for the recent restoration of the organ.

This weekend's celebrations include a men's breakfast and organ recital on Saturday, beginning at 8am and 11am respectively.

Church representative John Hanrahan said the breakfast would be an opportunity for men to "catch up and talk about anything" and may become a regular event.

Sunday will feature a rededication service for the organ from 2pm.

It will include a church service, which will be attended by relatives of several ex-ministers of the Kiama Presbyterian Church, as well as Sir John Fuller.

Sir John is the grandson of George Fuller, who donated the money for the organ in 1907 and was also the father of former State Premier Sir George Warburton Fuller.

Rededication service organiser Mardy McDonald said the rededication included an afternoon tea, choir performance and a presentation from Graham Harmer on the church's history.

For more information or to buy tickets for the breakfast or recitals, phone Joyce on 4232 1020.
