KIAMA District Netball Association sent four teams away to the 2006 Netball NSW state Age Championships held in the Newcastle region earlier this month.
While the highlight for the Association was the selection of Tayler Drevensek into the NSW U15 Tallies squad the best performed team for the carnival was U12s, who were spurred on by their war cry.
Contesting their first state championships the mighty U12s played a total of 21 games, with a total of 12 wins and finishing 8th out of 22 teams.
The U13s were joined by Alyssa Smith, due to the absence of Emma Sceri, and the side were a little underdone, and finished 13th.
The U14s unfortunately lost two players through injury in the first game but showed great tenacity throughout the carnival in winning 17 games in total and placing equal 9th.
Meanwhile the U15s went into the tournament without Fiona McMullen as they entered a higher division this year.
Fionas supporting did the trick and spurred on her team mates who put up a gallant fight and produced some great results in tight contests.
Local Netball and Courtside return next week.
