AFTER 30 years of producing top quality stage shows, the staff and students of Minnamurra Primary School are confident they have produced an extravaganza to top them all.

Set around historys most memorable moments, 2006 A Time Warp sees some of the Minnamurra students accidentally sent back in time after a malfunction with Professor Klutzs recently invented time machine.

Playing out like a history lesson, the students are scattered through time with children ending up in places as diverse as Ancient Rome and the first Moon Landing all the while trying to figure out a way to return home.

Written, produced and performed by Minnamurra, staff, students and parents, the latest school production has kicked off to rave reviews with two of the four performances already sold out.

We are really pleased with how things are going. It certainly is a spectacular show, school principal Ian Yabsley said.

We have around 140 Year 5 and 6 students who are all involved in the production and doing a fantastic job.

They have been hard at work practising all this term. We started lightly at first but the last three weeks have been pretty busy as they all the props while making sure the music, sound and everything else is all right.

We are also lucky enough to have a group of Year 10 boys from Kiama High School who are ex-students helping us out with the lighting and sound so that is a real help as well.

Highlight

An institution over the 30-year history of Minnamurra Primary School, the schools annual performance was always one of the highlights of the year, Mr Yabsley said.

The performance gives the students a real sense of conclusion for the children in Year 6 it is a great way to go out and it ensures that all the students are working right up until the end, he said.

The kids also get a lot out of it. They really thrive on producing something themselves while they also learn quite a bit.
