IT’S your chance to shine like a star on Friday, March 19 when Kiama Friends of Zumalai host a trivia fundraising night with a difference.
The theme is movies and music with guests encouraged to dress as their favourite film or music star.
Friends committee chair John “The Terminator” Littrich said the event, at Kiama High School Hall, would includes audience participation and live music by the John Littrich Band and special guests, while Paul “007” McGee was the grand quiz master.
All money raised on the evening goes to projects in Zumalai and its sub-district in East Timor. Mr Littrich explained that Kiama Council had signed a friendship agreement with Zumalai.
“We are trying to promote awareness about the agreement and to raise some money and have some fun too,” he said.
Mr Littrich explained that since 2004 the Friends of Zumalai had been supporting projects in the village such as food aid, high school scholarships and raising awareness about the problems faced by the East Timorese people.
“The whole idea is that we work to support them in what they want to do,” he said.
“Rather than us saying what we think should be done.”
The evening kicks off at 7.30pm and there are prizes for the best dressed and trivia winners. Tickets are $20 each and it’s BYO drinks and nibbles. Only 15 tables of 10 are available so bookings are essential.
Phone John or Jane Littrich on 4234 0031 for bookings.
