South Coast Rugby League has scored one of the biggest coups ever, after securing 2GB’s record breaking Continuous Call Team who will call the 2009 Grand Final.
The team, led by Ray Hadley, also features Bob ‘Bozo’ Fulton, Darryl ‘Big Marn’ Brohman and Steve ‘Blocker’ Roach, will call the game live, with their involvement meaning that the competition has been moved back one week, with the grand final now set down for Sunday, September 20.
South Coast Rugby League General Manager Jim McAuliffe said the opportunity to have the Continuous Call team at the Grand Final to broadcast the grand final live, was too good to pass up.
“We have had to reschedule round 17 (apart from the Kiama 150th anniversary match between Kiama and Gerringong) and round 18 and push the semi-finals back one week, but to have our competition decider broadcast country-wide was too good to pass up,” Mr McAuliffe said.
“The board and clubs have been supportive of the move and once we announce the venue for the grand final on Friday, planning will go ahead for what should be a great day,” Mr McAuliffe said.
