I am still stunned with the award, but after all the excitement I would like to write a letter of appreciation to the sponsors.
I arrived in Australia three years ago with my suitcase, sewing machine and a pocket full of dreams to marry an Australian citizen.
Hugh has six children of his own and I had just sold my very successful business in South Africa.
My younger sister had just been murdered on her farm and two other close family members had also been murdered in separate political acts of violence.
I was very sad to leave my children, friends, home and devoted staff behind, but a new life was being offered to me in Australia.
After the excitement of the wedding was over – I started looking for a job.
My main goal was to be employed as quickly as possible and to become a productive member of this wonderful country t
