ILLAWARRA triathlete Kerry Augustson has decided to take the plunge and compete November’s World 70.3 Championships in Florida – but she needs your help.
Augustson, who lives at Albion Park but teaches at Kiama’s Ss Peter and Paul School, needs to raise $5000 for accommodation by the end of June.
To ensure she meets the starter’s gun in Clearwater, Florida, Augustson his putting together a raffle.
She has already secured a prize package from Saucony, a massage from Phyxit Physio Wollongong and a giftware prize from an Albion Park giftware shop.
Augustson is asking for more businesses to come forward and help her reach her World Championship dream.
“An ideal prize would be a dinner for two at a restaurant or a double pass to the movies,” she said.
“A gift voucher from a local business would also be a great prize.
“It would be great to get a sponsor as well – the Peter Brock Foundation helped me compete last year (at the World Long Distance Championships in France).”
Augustson finished sixth at that year’s championships after placing tenth at the corresponding event in Canberra in 2006.
“I have no idea how I’ll go in Florida ... It all depends on the conditions,” she said.
