Soccer finals were a credit to all

I would just like send out a hearty congratulations to the Kiama Junior Soccer Club on hosting a magnificent weekend of the Illawarra Junior Soccer Finals.
The organisational skills of the hard working committee deserves to be made public knowledge, as it was by no mean feat housing four playing fields that were in constant use from 8.30am to 5pm on Saturday and Sunday.
While at the ground, I heard nothing but praise for the set-up and facilities, which are some of the best in the Illawarra.
The club should be collectively congratulated for a professionally organised event.
What makes the occasion more impressive is that it was washed out from the previous weekend to be rearranged for the following week.
President Steve Carlson, committee members Dawn, Effy, Mary, Wayne and the crew should be proud of their achievements as it proved that The Quarry is one of the best sporting complexes to hold this type of event in the Illawarra.
The weather was fickle, but the playing surfaces were in excellent condition after the recent rain and it should go down as a Kiama sporting highlight of 2008.
Well done to all concerned.
