Cassie Rogers, 19, is looking forward to her part as a Showgirl entrant in the Kiama Show.

NINETEEN-year-old Cassie Rogers is one of the first girls to enter the 2007 Kiama Showgirl Competition.

Altogether five talented young ladies who have signed up and recently attended a meet and greet with 2006 Showgirl Emma Pearce and Showgirl Coordinator Marie Mete.

I have been on the Friday night for the judging for the last few years and then I heard the news about this years competition and then I decided to do it, Cassie Rogers said.

Coming weeks will see the entrants attend a development day run by Nowra Show Society on December 2.

A farm day will follow on December 9, providing an opportunity for the girls to brush up on their local rural knowledge with a trip to a winery, cattle farm and a local coffee producer.

All of which seems exciting to Cassie who said her best friend would describe her as fun and loud.

The whole thing will be exciting and I just really want to do it for fun and see what it is like.

It is good for Kiama and I hope to be able to encourage other girls to go in the show one day.

It will be my first time at the Show Ball and I am looking forward to that and being paraded in the classic cars.

Born into a Rugby Union family, Cassies mother Lorraine is the treasurer of Kiama Rugby Club and father Tony is a long serving junior and senior coach.
