A KIAMA man is hoping his run of bad luck may have finally changed for good after winning more than $11,000 in the Gerringong Rugby League Club raffle nearly a year to the day he thought he might lose his leg.
24 year-old carpenter Scott Duncan said he was over the moon when his number was drawn at Cronins Pub in Gerringong.
When I pulled out the lucky ball I was pretty shocked. I just remember yelling out you little ripper and jumping around, then celebrating the big win over a couple of bottles of passion pop
His win comes a year after he broke both legs in separate accidents.
It is nearly a year to the day since the car accident. My Dad heard the ambulance drivers saying I might have to lose my leg, so to come out of it with a couple of titanium rods in my leg is not too bad, he said.
My girlfriend and I are planning to use the money to go on a trip to Thailand and save up for a house, so the money will definitely be put to good use.
