Dale Scifleet being clapped off the field by the Shoalhaven team after scoring an unbeaten century in the Burns Cup final at Geoff Shaw Oval last Sunday
A DALE Scifleet century has secured South Coast back to back Burns Cup crowns.
Scifleets knock of 100 not out was his first century for South Coast and comes after spending the Australian winter playing top division league Cricket in England for the Caistor club in Lincolnshire.
The Kiama all rounder has now been rewarded with selection in the Southern Zone team that will contest the NSW Country Championships, which will be held in Dubbo next month.
Despite being pleased with his innings, which saw him score a well earned century off the second last ball of the innings, Scifleet is now looking forward to the trip to Dubbo, which he feels should see a good performance from Southern Zone.
Its my second season for Southern Zone and last year I think we lost our third game against Newcastle in a close one, he said.
I havent seen the side but I am sure we will be fairly competitive and I think we should be up there.
Im pretty pleased with the hundred - it wasnt the best but I got there in the end.
It was off the second last ball of the innings and I was running anyway and would have been out by three meters if it hit, so I guess it was meant to be he added.
Scifleet (1/6) also picked up a wicket and is leading the way in representative and club Cricket for Kiama this season.
