Saturday night's benefit night for the late Anthony Roberts was a huge success and our photo shows Anthony's wife Tanya with local Aboriginal elder Aunty Mary Davis and South Coast League president Roy Mills.
South Coast League referees Chris Burke, Pat Hardman, Dave Jeffcott and Bernie Nolan enjoying the Anthony Roberts Benefit at the Kiama Leagues Club.
250 people turned out to honour the memory of the late Anthony Roberts, who passed away during a game for his beloved Mt Warrigal Kooris United in Greenwell Point last month.
The event was held at Kiama Leagues Club and was attended by the local Rugby League community, including referees and administrators.
The auctions alone raised $7,025 and will directly to his family.
South Coast Rugby League Secretary Manager, Mr David Hall said the success of the evening reflected how important Anthony was to his club.
It was a good happy night, he said.
It was great to have an event that honoured Anthonys memory and it showed how highly he was regarded in the local Rugby League community, he added.
South Coast Rugby League wish to thank the organising committee, in particular Tracey Roberts and John Edmonds and the members of the local Aboriginal community for making the night such a success.
