MEANWHILE Jamberoo antique shop owner Jane Temperley has raised concerns over plans to build four shops and 10 three-bedroom townhouses in the main street of the village.
The plans, lodged by applicant Rodney Keft more widely known as comedian Rodney Rude would see a site adjacent to the antique store and a second site on the eastern end of the street converted to commercial/residential premises.
Ms Temperley is concerned that the size of the premises, lack of landscaping and appearance of the planned buildings is inappropriate.
Its not a matter of not in my backyard its about over-development, said Ms Temperley.
The proposal is not in keeping with the streetscape its high density housing, she said.
Council has extended the 14 day period for the lodgement of public submissions until next Wednesday, November 1.
Plans for the developments are on display at Fredericks IGA store at Jamberoo.
I would like local people to have a look at the plans and make up their own minds about whether they want that kind of development in Jamberoo, said Ms Temperley.
