Liam Smith and Kassie Wright at Triple Care Farm with Kiama Rotary president Peter Maitland.
KIAMA Rotary Club is a long time supporter of Triple Care Farm and each year presents the Fred Wynn Memorial Award for $500.
This years recipient was Liam Smith who was presented with the award by Kiama Rotary president, Peter Maitland at last weeks Triple Care Farm graduation.
Fred Wynn was a long-standing member of Kiama Rotary and a builder in the area.
He took on many apprentices in his time and considered that it should not always be the top apprentices who are awarded but the ones who always apply themselves.
The club instituted the award in his memory but in recent years has changed the criterion from deserving apprentice to deserving Triple Care graduate.
This years recipient was Liam Smith. This year Kiama Rotary also introduced a new award called the Kiama Rotary Encouragement Award. This years inaugural recipient of the $250 award was Kassie Wright. These winners and all graduates of Triple Care Farm deserve to be congratulated on their achievements.
Run without government aid, Triple Care Farm is a Mission Australia program that helps homeless and disadvantaged young people reintegrate into society.
It provides distressed youth with safe, secure and stable accommodation as well as access to vocational training, a specialist caseworker and counselling.
Kiama Rotary has announced that Triple Care Farm will be the primary beneficiary of the next Antiques and Collectables Charity Fair to be held in January.
The Antique Fair is Kiama Rotarys primary fund raising event of the year and will be held from the 19th to 21st of January at the Leisure Centre. A Gala Opening Reception & Preview will be held at 6.30 pm on Friday January 19.
Enquires should be directed to the Event Manager Ian Johnston at 4237 554.
