Basketball has hit the arena at Kiama Leisure Centre. With the under 12s on their home court and under 14s travelling to Mossvale, the girls recorded a clean sweep, winning three games each.
The under 12 girls (pictured right) recorded wins over Goulburn (55-6), ACT Vikings (46-11) and Sutherland (28-10).
Alana Glasson was best for Kiama, displaying great vision in passing and accurate shooting which led to the outstanding results. Glasson was well supported by Olivia Child whose lightning court speed paved the way for Patricia McGee, Lanae Robinson, Lucy Cuppitt, Georgia Hoskings, Sally Walker and Kiralee Muller to totally dominate their opposition.
The under 14 girls (below) recorded impressive wins over Wollondilly (48-25), Illawarra (48-17) and Goulburn (50-14) thanks largely to new players, Lauren Sheldon and Zoia Wouks.
Sheldon was strong in defence and Wouks height and presence under the basket made times tough for opposing players. Sheridan Jones, Stephanie Pope, Sarah Devenish, Tahla Robinson and Alison Breen teamed up to record their impressive results, combining safe hands, accurate passing and shooting.
The perfect combination to go all the way in the 2006 season.
Well done.
