KIAMA Athletics Club"s athletes are gearing up for the final meet of the 2006-07 season after Friday"s penultimate meet at Kiama Sporting Complex.

Two club records were shattered on Friday with Janaya Zivkovic breaking her fourth club mark in two meets with a time of 31.0s in the under 15 girls" 200m hurdles.

Abbie Taddeo (31.3s) also broke a 200m hurdle mark, in the under 13 years" girls event.

The under 9 boys are always an exciting age group to watch, with all competitors breaking their personal bests each week.

Friday night was no exception, with Hayden Moon jumping a personal best of 3.80m in the long jump.

Josh Vazzoler continued his mighty shot putting with a 7.44m throw. Bailey Chaplin received a ribbon for 10 personal bests while Nathan Jenkins continues to record new bests and Nick Keatley is consistent each week.

Brian East had a great run in the 400m with a time of 1:30m and Harrison Rainnie had a great 60m hurdles with a 12.2s time.

The under 9 girls put in some standout performances, with Samantha McGillivray continued her consistent performances, while Piper Christley threw 3.75m in the shot put.

Brianna Rogers ran a great 400m, as did Holly Mayo. Georgia Ward jumped 2.77m in the long jump and Jasmine Gluth showed some great style in the 60m hurdles.

Amy Prytherch recorded a 4.36m to take out the shot put event and Astrid Nicholls won the hurdles in a tie of 13.6s.

This Friday, March 9 is the last meet of club competition for 2006-07. Kiama Athletics Clubs" presentation and party night will be on Friday, March 23.
