Rain intervenes in touch semis

Most Kiama Stingrays Junior Touch semi-finals were played on Monday with mixed results.
The day started with blue skies but as the games went on, the storm clouds rolled in, with the 11-13 girls and senior mixed games being cancelled.

The action was hot in the 7-9 Boys, with the boys showing their skills and weaving their magic in some very close and exciting games
Bushrangers (4) def Cemex (1).
Tyron Wishart bamboozled the opposition showing his wizardry to score 3 touchdowns; he was well supported by Angus Farrell who showed the opposition a clean pair of heels to score a touchdown.
Noah Khoder, Thomas Murray and Andy Webb played superbly to stop many a Cemex touchdown, while Lleyton Hughes, Kieren Pollard and Jade Hughes had a great time running the ball up.
Michael Blomley, Lleyton Chaplin, Cameron Henry and Dylan Pemberton tried hard to start many attacking raids and were successful in setting up Jake Kershaw for a touchdown.
Liam Murphy, Josh Thompson and Jake Simmington all tried hard in defence.
Southbridge Auto (5) def Killmore Plant Services (3).
This was an action packed game with the ball getting passed around, making it a great game to watch. Connor Hughes (3), Nic Wingrove (1) and Harvey Austin (1) led the way in attack scoring their teams touchdowns, while Tim, Jaden, Tom, Brodie, Lachlan and Peter all defended well.
Killmore didn’t go down without a fight, with Bradley Killmore scoring three touchdowns, he was well supported by Nathan, Logan, Kye and Thomas who troubled the defence every time they got the ball, while Nathan, Blake, Kyle, Alex, Thomas N, and Sam made it hard for the opposition to get through.
In the 8-10 Girls, numbers were down and both games were lopsided.
Walker Distribution (9) def Waves at the Beach (3).
This was technically a forfeit as Waves only had four girls turn up, while Walkers were primed for a big one. Birthday girl Kelsey scored four touchdowns, Montanna three touchdowns, while Erin and Lily also crossed for touchdowns.
There was no team sheet for Waves.
South Coast Financial (7) def Abico Insurance (2).
The Financial girl played well and shared the touchdowns around with Brooke (3), Hannah, Ruby, Briannan and Gabriella all scoring. Abby, Elysse and Emma played well with solid defence in the middle.
Holly and Rachael scored for Abico they were well supported with Avalon, Summer, Kia, Holly and Leah all having a great time with some weaving runs, while Jasmin, Sian and Zoe chased everything that moved.
The 10-11 Boys had some exciting game with the rep players really lifting, to get their teams in the Grand Final.
Nate Dogs (5) def Rose Valley Florist (2).
The Dogs played superbly, Hayden Moon used his pace to score two touchdowns, Alex Boles was ducking and weaving and scored two, while the energizer Rydge Smith crossed for a touchdown. Jai led the way with some slicing runs while Elijah, Matt, Bjorn and Thomas kept it tight in the middle.
The Florist were best served by Darcy Bond who led his side around the field and also tried to referee the game at the same time. Darcy crossed for both of his team’s touchdowns.
Dentworks (5) def RMB Lawyers (3).
Lewis and Christian scored 2 touchdowns each in this exciting game, while Laclan Farrell also crossed for a touchdown. They were well supported by Harry, Dalton and Kade who were great in defence.
For the Lawyer prolific scorer Broc crossed again as did Mitchell and Kye. Dylan and Jarrod tried to get around the defence while Lyndon, Harrison and Charlie tried their hardest in defence.
