KIAMA Power AFL is launching its 2008 season with a new committee, new coaches, and, hopefully, stacks of new players.
The executive committee this year consists of president Brendan Johnston, vice-president Mick O’Toole, treasurer Dianne Doherty and secretary and publicity officer Petra Hancock.
The new committee would like to thank last year’s committee for their dedication and efforts, especially outgoing president Paul Doherty who contributed greatly to the success of the club over the past three years.
They would also like to give thanks to outgoing senior coach Glenn Farquhar-Nichol for his outstanding effort and dedication throughout his term as coach and to Paul Christie for a top job as reserves coach.
Huge thanks also to all last year’s sponsors, especially the Kiama Leagues Club – our major sponsor for the previous four seasons – for once again agreeing to a generous sponsorship this year. Thanks to Stephen Marks and the board of directors of the Leagues Club.
The club is appealing to all businesses who have an interest in seeing AFL succeed in Kiama to consider some form of sponsorship.
In 2007 the Power first grade team made the grand final.
With new players recruited and a strong reserves side this year, they will be a force to be reckoned with.
Training for season 2008 officially starts on Tuesday, February 12 and will be held every Tuesday and Thursday at Bonaira Oval at 6pm.
All enquiries regarding sponsorship or recruitment can be directed to Brendan Johnston, on 0412 124 063.
