UNDER 10S
The Kiama Power under 10s travelled north on Saturday to the Wollongong Lions "den".
Game day captain Jake Heffernan showed that the best way to tame a lion was with solid defence.
At half time Kiama had not scored, but the Power's third quarter was their best of the season.
Great team work saw Jack Lawrence kick four goals and Ben Howitt three in a seven-goal blitz that gave Kiama the lead at three-quarter time.
Wollongong threw everything at the Power in the fourth quarter, but stalwart defence from Charlie McDonald, Callum O'Toole and James Balding kept Kiama in front.
The Lions tasted defeat for the first time this season, with The Kiama Downs Takeaway man of the match was Zac Steele.
Final score: Kiama 8-2-50 defeated Wollongong 5-6-36.
UNDER 13s
The combined Shellharbour and Kiama under 13s took on an under strength Dapto at Jock Brown Oval in Shellharbour.
The Power Swans kicked eight goals to one in the first quarter in a sign of things to come.
