AUSSIE hip hop artist Phrase is the latest to sign on to Illawarra music festival PlayDay saying that “it’s a total buzz” to be asked to join the bandwagon.
“Any festival you get a chance to play at is a good thing,” he said.
“I’ve played in Wollongong a few times and I remember the crowds there being a bit rowdy so it should be fun.”
Phrase believes that opportunities such as this may never have happened without the help of radio stations like i98FM supporting hip hop.
“I remember when I first started out five years ago before the (Hilltop Hoods) had blown up it was still a very small following and there were always guys at the show,” he revealed.
“But I think due to radio stations supporting it, we now get a huge cross section of the community.”
