MEMBER for Kiama Matt Brown has urged residents to come out in support of our inland farming communities by supporting Sunday’s Farm Aid concert.
“This is a great opportunity to support the bush and at the same time to enjoy some great free entertainment,” Mr Brown said.
“The Farm Aid Concerts have free entry and feature 10 top music and entertainment acts to suit everyone.”
The Concert is on Sunday at Hindmarsh Park in the centre of Kiama, from 3pm to 9.30pm.
“The concerts have had great support from local sponsors like Bluescope, Cleary Bros, Manildra and many others,” Mr Brown said.
“I want to thank them for their support of the bush, too – these sponsors are putting on a free entertainment spectacular for locals here to enjoy.
“I am Illawarra residents to come along and have fun and to bring some gold coins with them to toss into the collection buckets.
“This is a great gesture towards a happier Christmas for struggling families on drought-blighted farms.”
The Lions Clubs and the Salvation Army will be collecting jointly, with all proceeds going to the Salvation Army Drought Relief Program.
