Jamberoo Junior League celebrated another centurion last Saturday when Luke Asquith played his 100th game for the club.
He ran on a very proud young man and played the way he had 99 times before with a whole hearted effort that was full on enterprise and total commitment.
The rest of the Under 12s did not let him down as with 12 men they lifted to take on the front runners in Stingrays with their most determined performance of the year.
Despite going down 30-16 the boys finished with plenty of confidence for the season ahead. Man of the match went to Jack Wright our new NSW rep, with others to put in big games Shane Grant, Blake maples and the 100 game ‘legend’ Luke Asquith.
The Jamberoo Under 6s started a big day at Kevin Walsh Oval with a tremendous effort sharing the points with a 12 all draw with Shellharbour.
It was try for try but nobody could convert to break the deadlock. Jayden Foye held aloft the player of the match trophy with a tireless effort throughout the game.
The Under 9s Red took on Stingrays and started the game the way we had planned with fast moving committed defence. Unfortunately we just couldn’t keep it going and went to the break down 12-8, despite scoring tries each. Man of the match went to Brent Zancolich for a very strong performance and congratulations to Jake Whitechurch and Cody Fox who crossed for their first tries of the season.
The Under 16’s returned to the winners list with a solid 42-12 win over a dogged Milton that would not let go.
The boys started with a full bench and full of confidence to put on some delicate plays that were paying dividends on the scoreboard.
The delicate hands of Keiran Quinn were finding plenty of determined runners with none better then Jobe Wilson who had an outstanding game.
A big crowd was on hand and they were appreciative of an entertaining performance from a side that is really starting to gel into a well organised and entertaining attacking out fit.
The Under 9s Green had a day out when ten of their eleven players crossed the line in their 58-0 demolition of Warilla.
