KIAMA freestyle motocross rider Robbie Maddison joined nine of the world"s best for the Red Bull X-Fighters event at the Monumental Plaza de Toros bullfighting arena in Mexico City on Friday (Australian time).
With a crowd of more than 42,000 on hand plus more than 10 million watching on television and the internet, Maddison and his rivals did their thing in the world"s biggest bullfighting arena.
Maddison, Australia"s best freestyle motocross rider, won through to the final against Nate Adams from the US and Spain"s Danny Torres.
Despite busting out some of his trademark manoeuvres, Maddison was unable to topple the Spaniard in the final.
The Red Bull X-Fighters are on tour for the first time in 2007, hosted by three more venues after Mexico City. Their next stop will be Ireland on May 26, followed by Moscow on June 30 before the final tour event on July 27 in Madrid.
