FRIDAY afternoon action from Kiama Little Athletics saw the addition of the gruelling middle distance events to complete round seven of the annual competition.

All athletes were keen to test themselves across all of the events with the U9 boys proving most enthusiastic.

Hayden Moon set a cracking pace to win both the 100m and 800m. Harrison Rainnie claimed a personal best to take out the High Jump and Josh Vazzoler did likewise in the Discus and judging by the smiles on their faces all the boys in this age group were having a wonderful time.

Larni Cowgill raised the bar to a new level in the U10 Girls High Jump and Tanya Poppett completed the quickest 1500m by an U15 Girl.

Other notable performances were recorded by Michael Robinson (U7) who ran an outstanding 500m, Lachlan Fredericks who showed great improvement in the 1500m, Kirsten Nash producing her best 100m sprint of the season and Ellara Rainnies (U14) efforts in both the 100m and 1500m were her best to date.

The next carnival of the regional Little Athletics season will be hosted by Albion Park Little Athletics at the Croome Road Sporting Complex on Sunday December 10. A strong contingent of Kiama athletes will be in attendance and hopes are high for a swag of medals.

Competition will continue next Friday evening from 5:30pm with the week two program of events.
