GERRINGONG Lions ended Milton-Ulladulla Bulldogs impressive mid-season resurgence when they scored a convincing 24-10 win at Michael Cronin Oval on Saturday.
The Lions led from the fifth minute and extended their lead to 16-0 at halftime before comfortably holding off the Bulldogs in the second half.
The home side scored a vital early try when five-eighth Michael Brown raced over for Daniel Gleeson to convert.
It wasnt long before front-rower Ben Ring added his name to the scoresheet and the Lions had jumped away to a handy 10-0 lead.
The Bulldogs looked disorganised and their inability to get into the Lions territory required an enormous amount of defence on their part with Lions coach Alan Miller pleased with the win.
It was a good win for the boys and I didnt think we played that badly against Kiama last week, he said.
It is an up and down competition and you really have to take your turn when it comes.
Danny Morse and Greg Sharpe were outstanding for us in the forwards and they were well supported by Michael Brown and Lloyd Bowan, he added.
Gerringong now have the bye this week and hope to freshen up for Warilla.
