Aden McLeod turned in a man of the match performance in his teams grand final win over Albion Park last weekend. The second rower scored two tries and was a menace for the Park defence.

KIAMA Knights U11.1 team have soared to their second successive premiership with a 28-12 win over Albion Park-Oak Flats at Kiama Showground last

weekend.

Aden McLeod led the way in a man of the match performance after scoring two tries in the win that was built upon solid defence.

Six all at half time, coach David Wheatley brought the team together in a huddle for a team talk in a game that could have gone either way with Kiama slightly on top.

I just said to the boys that the game was there to be taken. They needed to stand up, run harder, tackle harder and I knew we could come from behind and win, he said.

Cody Wheatley, Reece Connelly, Jarred Dryburgh all scored second half tries with Camden Sutton, Mitchell Boles, Mitchell Connelly and Matt Morris kicking conversions.

The win makes it two premierships in a row for the team who have played together for since under sevens and are already looking to next year that will see the team and coach return for a crack at a third title.

The finals saw clubs as far away from Batemans Bay come together to battle it out and Group Seven officials were impressed with how the day went.

Kiama Knights Junior Rugby League President Dave Burge was pleased with the day and the community spirit.

Id like to thank Mark Burns of Kiama Rugby Union Club for changing their games to Saturday night to accommodate the junior league grand finals, a delighted Mr Burge commented.

The U12.1 team came up against an experienced Albion Park outfit who came away with their third premiership in a row after defeating the Knights 10-6.

Aden McLeod, Mitchell Conley, Matt Morris and Reece Conley go into wild celebrations as the fulltime siren sounds after their grand final win over Albion Park on Saturday.

Aided by a strong first half breeze Park raced to a 10-0 lead on the back of some try saving defence as Kiama pressured the oppositions line only to fall short after two disallowed tries.

The Knights came out firing after the break with a try to Caine Trindall, which he scored in typical fashion from 70m out.

Fletch Atkins converted and the dying minutes were hard fought with Park hanging on for the 10-6 win.

Andrew Chard was man of the match for Kiama and Caine Trindall was awarded the Kiama Picture Co encouragement award.

President Dave Burge, on behalf of the junior committee, would like to thank Karen Deen for her hard work during the finals and all sponsors for their support this season.
