Tyson Wickham on the charge for Kiama Knights U12.1 last weekend.

KIAMA Knights, Jamberoo Superoos and Gerringong Lions will all contest Mod League grand finals at Kiama Showground this coming weekend.

In a season plagued by wet weather, and with no doubt all players will be gearing up to win, it is a season that has seen the junior rugby league community pull together to ensure the array of junior talent can get on the field in a season that initially started with concerns, according to South Coast Junior Rugby League Group Seven President Mr Neil Redfern.

We started the season with some concerns over the grounds because it was so dry, he said.

Then the wet weather came along it really is a tribute to all clubs how they banded together to get the teams on the field and I would like to congratulate them for their efforts in making a successful season and ensuring we had a competition, added Mr Redfern.

Jamberoo U12.2 side will take on an undefeated Warilla after a bruising encounter against Milton-Ulladulla Bulldogs that ended in a 26-6 win after a pre game pep talk from former Australian great Rod Wishart, resulted in three barn storming tries to centre Keedan Daniels.

Meanwhile Caine Trindall has scored two tries for Kiama Knights U12.1 in their hard fought 18-4 win over Batemans Bay,.

The highlight of the match was the defensive efforts of Andrew Chard, Jake Lee and Jackson Gunning.

Not to be outdone were the Gerringong Lions U10.2 who powered to a 24-18 win over Sussex Inlet.

The attacking spark was provided by Cody Winzer, which paved the way for Jake Taylor to score four tries to set up a first ever title shot against Warilla Gorillas.

The Lions U10.2 will be up against Warilla, Kiama face off against Albion Park in U11.2 and U12.1, while the Jamberoo Superoos take on Warilla in the U12.2 age group.

The grand final action for the U13 to U16s will take place next weekend at Win Stadium.

Keeden Daniels makes a break for Jamberoo U12.2 on his way to scoring three tries against Milton.
