KIAMA Junior Cricket Club farewelled some of its under 16 players on Saturday. Players who are not eligible to play junior crick et next season will hopefully move onto the senior ranks with the Cavaliers.

The club would also like to thank the coaches, managers, scorers and supporters who have given so much this season.

Kiama’s K and R Fabrication 16As saved one of their best performances of the season for last with a great win over Rail/Jamberoo.

The opposition batted first and scored 4/161, with Kiama’s Dalton Sinclair, Ethan McIntosh, Brad Nash and Logan Wilson snaring a wicket each.

Claeg Wilson led Kiama’s successful run chase with 62, including four 6s and five 4s.

Steve Piper (34) played a great captains knock in his final game of junior cricket while Brad Church ended his junior career with 31 to secure the win.

The Kiama Golf Club-sponsored 16Bs recorded a season-ending, 77-run loss against Wests Blue.

Wests won the toss and scored 4/111 from 30 overs, with Dan Jones (2/6) the pick of the Kiama bowlers.

Matt Hardy (2/21) took his competition-leading tally to 24 wickets for the season.

In reply Kiama posted 34, led by 20 from David Vanags.

Kiama’s under 14As scored a five-wicket win over Dapto. The Illawarra club batted first but could only post 62 thanks to tight bowling from Mark Mura (3-3), Jono Lukian (1-6), Frej Ulfsson (1-9) and Mitchell Conley 2-12.

Kiama lost a couple of early wickets in reply but Tim Delaney hit a nerveless, unbeaten 33 (including four 6s) to steer his side to victory.

Kiama’s 10B Gold side scored a narrow victory over Oak Flats, 3/88 to 2/61.

The Cavs batted first and Matt Brockman and Che Stubbs led the scoring, while Bryce Humphries and Braedon Barker both batted with more confidence.

With the ball, Will and Ben Howitt claimed a wicket apiece to earn the joint man-of-the-match award.

Owen Sutherland and Will Stewart were standouts in the field and were instrumental in limiting the opposition’s score.

Meanwhile, the 10B Blues lost to Jamberoo 9/168 to 8/117. Kiama skipper Callum Porter won the toss and elected to bat before he produced a captain’s knock of 10 runs.

Bailey Chaplin, Charlie Menzies and Dean Brownlow added six runs each for the Cavs. .

Jamberoo started positively despite some excellent fielding for Kiama, while Dean Brownlow (2/9), Charlie Menzies (1/8) and Flynn Parker (1/15) all bowled well.

Kiama’s 10As wrapped up their season with a good win over Shellharbour Blue.

The Cavs were outstanding in the field, rolling the competition leaders for 51.

Brendon Pollard (2/1 off 3 overs), Joel Young (2/5), Zac Parker (2/6), Coen Simon (1/3), Harry O’Brian (1/5) and Josh Norris (1/3) were all among the wickets.

The bowlers were supported by great fielding from Thomas Murray, Liam Negus, Blake Harrison and Kane Delavere, while Josh Norris snared two catches behind the stumps.

Kiama then produced a all-round performance to secure the win five overs to spare.
