GREG Heat of Albion Park is flying high after being drawn as the lucky winner of the Mustang Joyflight Competition.

Southern Independent Publishers, publishers of the Kiama Independent, Lake Times and Wollongong and Northern Leader, in conjunction with Mustang Joy Flights, recently gave one lucky reader the chance to win the flight of a lifetime.

The prize was the opportunity to climb aboard a historic World War II fighter plane, the Mustang VH BOB, and step back in time as it performs a range of combat manoeuvres.

All three publications were flooded with entries, with Mr Heat being drawn as the lucky recipient of this fantastic prize.

Mr Heat, who moved to the area about seven years ago, was understandably excited about his prize.

“I’m very pleased, although it could depend on the manoeuvres he attempts while I’m in the plane whether I still think that afterwards!” he laughed.

“Since we moved to this area we’ve been in the flight path of the airport and I always enjoy seeing the old planes go over.

“I’ve never flown in anything like this before though.”

Even better news for Greg is the announcement that he will fly to Melbourne next month to claim his prize.
