Jerrara farmer Margaret Raison and her family have been working hard to produce top quality milk for a new yoghurt.

The Raison’s son, Steve, who helps run the property, is the fourth generation of the family to work on the property, which was originally bought by George Raison in 1921.

During that time the family has always taken pride in the quality of milk they produce.

“The new yoghurt is a great product – no doubt about it – and we are proud to be supporting a great product made with Aussie farmers’ milk,” Margaret Raison said.

“Dairying is not like most jobs; it’s long hours and physical work, but it can also be very rewarding,” she said.

“The new yoghurt is very popular and we are delighted to see our milk going toward such a healthy and nutritious product.”

The development of the Dairy Farmers Co-operative’s Thick & Creamy Light yoghurt is testament to the hard work of more than 2000 dairy farmers across the nation, who are responsible for producing the award-winning milk that goes into making Dairy Farmers’ products.

The company says its Thick & Creamy brand has revolutionised the yoghurt category with its trademark great taste and firm consistency. The secret lies in a unique production method, which is gentler on cultures than traditional yoghurt-making techniques.

Dairy Farmers’ general manager of Marketing and Innovation, John Wardley, said the arrival of the brand represented a particularly exciting development.

“We were literally blown away by the consumer response to our Thick & Creamy range last year,” he said.

“Naturally, we wanted to expand this winning formula into new markets and deliver health-conscious consumers a yoghurt that is healthy, but that doesn’t compromise on taste or texture.

“We are anticipating another strong response from consumers with Thick & Creamy Light. The product scored exceptionally well in consumer research when compared to other diet yoghurt products on the market.

“And it has all the attributes consumers expect from our products – great taste, made from high quality Aussie milk, in innovative packaging to stand-out on the shelf.”
