THEY’RE tough, confident women and on Sunday the Wollongong Illawarra Roller Derby will show everyone just what they can do with a special Rock ‘N’ Roller: First Blood showcase.

“Roller derby is great, I love it,” beamed captain of the Maidens of Mayhem, Amber Peck AKA Shelby Unkonshus.

“I couldn’t see myself going to the gym for six hours a week because that’s a chore, this isn’t,” said Kim Gallagher AKA Kim Ocean, captain of the Violet Femmes.

“When I’m on there, work, stress, everything is left on the sidelines until the skates come off.”

Swapping jerseys for fishnet stockings, this sport is nothing short of extreme athleticism that will be sure to impress.
