Golf day raises $1800 for Support Group

GERRINGONG Ladies Golf Club held their annual charity day on Thursday, rasing $1800 for the Illawarra Breast Cancer Support Group.
A cheque for $1800 was presented to Gloria Swift, with $600 of funds raised coming from the Gerroa Boat Fisherman's Club golf group.
Gloria thanked the golfers and stressed that all money would stay in the Illawarra to support women diagnosed with breast cancer.
She also told the group that one Illawarra woman was diagnosed with breast cancer every day.
This was a great effort given the well-publicised vandalism to the greens at Gerringong, which will require extensive and expensive repairs.
For the record, the winners of the golf game were the combined team from Gerringong and Jamberoo.
That team was made up of Marlene Trethowan, Patsy Fayne, Lieve Stassen and Cathy Robinson.
Congratulations to all the people involved in the golf day and associated fundraising initiatives for their efforts.
