Golden day for Ss Peter and Paul league

THE SUN SHONE on Ss Peter and Paul Primary at the recent All-Schools rugby league knockout with the Kiama-based school winning the under 9s division.
The Peter and Paul boys defeated local rivals Minnamurra 16-10 in a hotly-contested grand final.
Earlier, Ss Peter and Paul accounted for Kiama 26-6 and Windang Primary School 14-10.
Peter and Paul also came close in the under 11s northern zone competition, going down to Shellharbour in the final.
Earlier, the Peter and Paul 11s defeated Kiama 14-6 and Figtree 20-18.
In all, 98 teams from forty-three schools 43 entered the carnival, which was run by the South Coast Schools Rugby League Council, Dragons Development, ARL Development and the Country Rugby League.
It was held across four venues and two zones of six divisions each.
Dragons and Steelers legend Shaun Timmins was on hand at Croom Road Sporting Complex to meet the children, parents and teachers participating in the day.
"The kids were great, there was good sportsmanship was on display all day and the parents were very encouraging," Shaun said.
In other northern zone finals, 10A Helensburgh 26 defeated Mt Terry 10, 10 years B Waniora 12 defeated St Joseph's Bulli 4, Open A Mt Brown 10 defeated Minnamurra 0 and Open B St Michael's Thirroul 14 defeated Waniora 10.
In the southern zone finals 9 years Huskisson 22 defeated Sanctuary Point 6, 10 years A Berry 32 defeated Gerringong 0, in the 10 years B final Culburra won a round robin of three teams, in the 11 years St Michaels Nowra 12 defeated the kids from Sanctuary Point 6.
