BRITTANY Bugden, Jamie Emerson, Bella Worner-Butcher and Alanna Smith (pictured left to right) have broken the 4x100m girls relay record at the Tongarra District athletics championships held at Kiama Quarry sports fields last Friday.

Representing Kiama Public School the girls won by 20m on the way to a time of 1.02.78, a record that has stood for over 16 years and the school finished second in the champion school, which was won by Albion Park.

The Tongarra district event features the best talented up and coming runners, throwers and jumpers from all over the local region. The the age winners will now go on to compete at the South Coast regional carnival in Canberra on September 14.
